Why Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies?
Salt complements chocolate, making it a great topping for chocolate chip cookies.
Adding salt to cookies accentuates the flavours of chocolate turning regular chocolate chip cookies into a decadent treat. It also tones down the bitterness of dark chocolate.
Equipment For Making This Recipe
To make these cookies, we use a mixer to cream the butter. It can be a stand mixer or a hand mixer. Both work well.
For cookies that are uniform in size, we use cookie scoops. For this recipe, we use a medium-sized scoop, which is two tablespoons.
Serving Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies can be served as a snack or a dessert. But there are other ways to serve them as well.
We like to turn these cookies into ice cream sandwiches in the summer. Sandwich softened ice cream between two cookies and freeze for 20 minutes. Our favourite is caramel ripple ice cream.
Storing Cookies
These chocolate chip cookies will stay fresh in a sealed container for up to five days.
They can also be frozen for up to three months.
