Preheat oven to 350℉ and line 2 baking pans with parchment or silicone mat.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together until smooth and creamy, about 3-4 minutes.
Beat in egg, milk, and vanilla extract, beating until smooth.
Stir in flour and baking soda, until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips.
Scoop dough onto prepared pans using a 2-tablespoon scoop or large spoon, spacing about 2 inches apart.
Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until edges are crisping and centers are still slightly wet.
Remove pans from oven and sprinkle cookies with salt immediately.
Allow to cool for 1 minute on the pan before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely.
Store in an air-tight container.
