You can make these cinnamon rolls with a homemade recipe or use refrigerated dough. Either way, they are delicious.

Ingredients for Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls

To make these rolls, you will need the following three ingredients:

  • Cinnamon roll dough. This can be homemade or premade refrigerator dough.
  • Bacon. The bacon must be cooked, so you can use precooked bacon or cook your own.
  • Maple syrup.

If you want to make the homemade version of this recipe, replace the refrigerator dough with our Easy Homemade Cinnamon Buns. You will need to make the icing for this recipe as well.

Tips For Making This Recipe

Making this recipe is easy when you use refrigerator dough because all the work is mostly done for you. We use Pillsbury Grands cinnamon buns to make this recipe when we aren’t making them from scratch.

Precooked bacon can be used in this recipe to cut down the time needed to cook the bacon. We make extra bacon at breakfast to use in recipes and keep it in the fridge until ready to use.

For extra bacon flavor, add some crumbled bacon to the cinnamon filling before baking the buns.

Make These In The Smoker

Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls can easily be baked in the smoker. We bake these in our Pit Boss Pellet Smoker using maple or apple wood pellets to add a slightly smoky flavour.

Treat your smoker like an oven by preheating it to 350ºF and following the same instructions as using the oven.

Serving Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls

These buns are best served warm or at room temperature. If you aren’t serving them immediately, skip the icing until it’s time to serve them. Warm the buns in the oven before covering in the icing and bacon.

Serve these for breakfast or a snack. These also make a great addition to a weekend brunch.

Or pack them up for taking on a road trip, camping, or a weekend at the cottage.

Storing Cinnamon Buns

The best way to store these buns is in an airtight container in the fridge.

They can also be frozen for up to two months. Thaw the buns at room temperature before heating in the oven or microwave.
