These boozy brownies are one of our comfort foods. They are rich and chocolatey with the spicy notes of whisky that make this one of our favourite desserts to serve after a BBQ meal of brisket or pulled pork.

Serving This Dessert
These brownies are a perfect ending to a great BBQ meal, but they can be served for any adult get-together. We don’t serve these brownies when there are kids at our dinners because of the alcohol content.
The brownies pair well with coffee. They are also great with a glass of whisky on ice or a glass of wine.

We have tried different brands of whisky to make these brownies, and each one produced a delicious dessert. The choice is really up to you.
Some brands to check out include: Crown Royal, Forty Creek, Gibson’s Finest, and J.P. Wiser.
Also, check to see if there is a local, smaller distillery in your area that may make and sell Canadian Whisky. Our favourite Canadian Whisky is made locally.
Our suggestion is when cooking or baking with any type of alcohol to use your preferred brand. If you don’t like the taste of a particular brand, chances are you won’t like it in your cooking or baking either.
