Fried apple rings are a crispy, crunchy snack we love to serve in the fall when apples are at their freshest. Made with fresh apples, thinly sliced, then battered and fried with a sweet cinnamon sugar coating, this treat is great as part of a late weekend breakfast or as a snack.

These crunchy, sweet fried apples are a family favourite in the fall to serve with a cup of warm apple cider.

Equipment We Use For This Recipe
When making this recipe, we like to use an apple peeler to peel the apples, especially when making a larger batch.
We also like to heat the oil in a cast-iron Dutch oven. These types of pots help maintain a consistent oil temperature.
Tips For Making Fried Apple Rings
This recipe is fairly easy to make, but these tips make it easier.
After peeling the apples, we find it easier to slice them into rounds before coring them. We lay slices on a cutting board and use an apple corer or the smallest biscuit cutter to pop the center out, removing the seeds.
Make the batter before peeling the apples, and let it sit while you prepare the apples. This will give the batter time to thicken slightly, and it will stick to the apple slices better.
Serving Apple Rings
These are best when they are served warm, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.
Another great way to serve these is with a side of caramel for dipping the apples in. Or drizzle the caramel over the Fried Apple Rings.
Storing Apple Rings
Fried apple rings are best when they are eaten fresh. They can be stored in the fridge for a day or two and reheated in the air fryer.
