Baking Drop Biscuits on the BBQ or in The Smoker

To make this biscuit recipe outside, it is very similar to baking in an oven.

Preheat either the BBQ or pellet smoker just like you would an oven.

The pan of biscuits will need to be baked using indirect heat on the BBQ. It helps if you place the pan on an upside-down muffin tin or cake pan to keep the bottoms from burning.

In a pellet smoker, the pan should be placed on the end away from the burner.

Either method of baking outside will require the pan of biscuits to be turned halfway through baking.

Also, cooking times may vary depending on the BBQ or smoker, so it is best to keep an eye on them.

Serving Cheddar Jalapeno Drop Biscuits

Cheddar Jalapeno Biscuits are great with chicken, ribs, or any other BBQ dinner. But they also go great with other foods as well.

  • Chili. These biscuits are a great bread for dipping in chilli, and the cheddar and jalapeno in them complement the flavours of chilli.
  • Mac and Cheese.
  • Soup. We like to serve these with hearty soups like taco soup.
  • Breakfast. Serve biscuits with bacon and eggs for a flavourful alternative to toast.

Storing and Reheating Biscuits

After cooling, any leftover biscuits can be kept fresh in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.

Reheat the biscuits in an air fryer for 2 minutes on low. Or heat in a microwave for 20-30 seconds.

Biscuits also freeze well in an air-tight container for up to 2 months. Thaw and reheat before serving.
