Oreo Banana Bread

Oreo Banana Bread is a twist on banana bread. This bread is moist and not overly sweet, making it a great snack or part of a brunch. And this recipe is so easy to make, with only 8 ingredients!

A loaf of Oreo Banana Bread sliced on a wood cutting board. There is a bunch of bananas behind the loaf on the left and the bottom of an Oreo cookie bag is barely visible in the top right beside the bananas.

One of the great things about this recipe is that it is not overly sweet. Oreo cookies are sweet on their own, but adding them to this recipe makes them a perfect complement to the bananas, and it all balances out.

Ingredients For Oreo Banana Bread

To make this recipe, you will need:

  • Overripe bananas.
  • White sugar.
  • Vegetable oil.
  • Eggs.
  • All-purpose flour.
  • Baking soda.
  • Salt.
  • Oreo cookies.

To Glaze Or Not To Glaze

Oreo Banana Bread can be topped with a simple glaze made of icing sugar and milk. Oreo crumbs can also be added on top of the glaze.

We prefer this bread without the glaze because the cookies and overripe bananas add enough sweetness to the bread.

Tips For Making This Recipe

When chopping the Oreo Cookies, chop the cookies into different sizes. The crumbs will blend in, and the larger pieces will add the crunch and flavour to the bread.

Don’t overbake the bread. The centre should just be cooked (test with a fork or toothpick inserted in the centre). The bread will continue to bake as it rests in the pan for a few minutes.

Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing for the best results and easier slicing.

Serving Oreo Banana Bread

Serve this banana bread like you would any other banana bread, as a snack, or as part of breakfast or brunch.

Another great way to use this bread is to slice it and make French Toast. This is perfect for a weekend breakfast.

Storing Oreo Banana Bread

Once completely cooled, store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature. It will stay fresh for up to three days.

The bread can also be wrapped in plastic wrap, then placed in a container, and frozen for up to two months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
