Brownie Batter
- 1 cup white sugar
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup melted butter, cooled
Cookie Dough
- ½ cup butter, softened
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Topping
- ½-¾ cup mini chocolate chips
Brownie Batter
Whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, flour, baking soda and salt.
Add the egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter, stirring until just combined.
Set aside.
Cookie Dough
Cream the butter with both sugars until creamy and smooth.
Beat in egg, vanilla, and milk.
Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Putting It All Together
Spoon both the brownie batter and cookie dough into the prepared pan, alternating between the two so that the batter and dough are mixed throughout the pan.
Use a spatula to swirl the batter and dough together by dragging the edge of the spatula from one end to the other, then side to side. This is similar to making a marble cake.
Sprinkle mini chocolate chips over the top.
Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Don't overbake, the centre should still be soft, but the edges should be crispy.
Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before removing from pan and letting it cool for at least 30 minutes befire cutting.
Cut into 16 squares and serve.
