Mini Pumpkin Pies may be bite-sized, but they are definitely full of all the flavours of a full-sized pumpkin pie. These little pies make a great addition to a dessert table at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Pumpkin Pie is a favourite for our twins, who put in their request for this pie at least a month before Thanksgiving. Then again, in November, they start asking for it for Christmas. And these little pies are one of their favourites.

What Ingredients Are Needed For This Recipe?
The filling for these pies is made from six ingredients:

- Evaporated milk.
- Brown sugar.
- Egg.
- Pumpkin pie spice.
- Vanilla extract.
A package of mini tart shells is also needed. We use Tenderflake mini tart shells when we make these.

Making The Pumpkin Pie Filling
The filling for these mini pies is slightly different than what we use in traditional pumpkin pies. It’s made with pumpkin puree, an egg, brown sugar, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract.
We use real pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. There is a huge difference. The pie filling already contains spices and is intended to be poured into a crust directly from the can and baked. Pumpkin puree is 100% pumpkin; it’s the only ingredient.
Pumpkin pie spice is added and can be store-bought or homemade.
The easiest way to make the filling is to use a hand mixer. You can mix the ingredients by hand with a whisk, but we have found that you get better results with a hand mixer, which blends everything smoothly.
How To Serve Mini Pumpkin Pies
These mini pies are great on their own, but they are also delicious with whipped cream on top. We make homemade whipped cream, but you can use pre-made whipped cream if you like.
Because they are smaller, they are a fantastic dessert for those who are looking for a small dessert. And you can skip the whipped cream and sprinkle a little pumpkin spice or confectioner’s sugar on top.
Also, because they are smaller, they are a great dessert for kids. Our youngest grandson loves these mini pumpkin pies. They are the perfect size for his little hands.
Storing Leftover Mini Pumpkin Pies
Any leftover pies should be refrigerated and used up within 3 days.
The pies can also be frozen for up to three months. To do this, place the mini pies on a baking sheet in the freezer for about an hour, then transfer to a freezer bag or freezer-safe container.
We hope you enjoy these mini pumpkin pies as much as we do. If you make the recipe, we would love to hear from you. Leave a comment below.

Oh my these look so good (and so cute)! These would be perfect for Friendsgiving parties this year to avoid sharing food!
These are perfect for portion control 🙂 These would also be great to give as gifts. I love to deliver a surprise little yumminess to friends.
These look so cute! Perfect for my kids!
I love pumpkin pie and mini desserts! I always feel like I can eat more when they are small!! We love to do mini pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas so we don’t have a ton of leftovers and can have a lot of different flavors
Those look amazing! I was thinking about mini pumpkin pies the other day but wasn’t sure how to make it work, thinking it would be significantly different than a standard size one for whatever reason. You have given me hope for it lol.
Omg I need these right now!! LOVE the idea of tiny pumpkin pies. Have you ever added ground pepper to your pumpkin pie? I did last year and it really made them pop!!
These are so cute! And crust is one of my favorite parts of the pie so this would be perfect. 😊
I love the individual serving sizes of these. I only make pies when I am attending a group gathering since I would not be able to eat one myself. (Well, I could, but my wardrobe would not approve.) These would also be great for a potluck buffet since people would not have to slice and/or mangle a whole pie to cut one serving.
These are so cute! The small size will certainly help with over-indulgence! Thanks for sharing, I think my little one will love making her own mini pie.
These look amazing! My daughter will love having her own mini pie on Thanksgiving.
These will be perfect for my family’s Halloween party! So cute and tasty.
Love the idea of making mini pumpkin pies….wonderful presentation at any Thanksgiving gathering!
These look delicious. I’m definitely going to try this year to bake!
These look fantastic! I love all things mini 🙂
These look amazing!
I’m so excited that pumpkin pie season is nearly upon us! I’ve made a lot of pumpkin pies in my lifetime, but I’ve never made mini versions. What a fun variation! Thank you for sharing!
I LOVE pumpkin pies so I absolutely need to give these a try. Mini pumpkin pies sound like a great way to make these pies into individual portions. I cannot wait to give these a try.
love the idea of mini pumpkin pies, I’m surrounded by family who does not like pumpkin so small portions would be perfect instead of a whole pumpkin pie to myself hehe
