Preheat oven to 350℉, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream shortening and sugars together until smooth and creamy, about 3-4 minutes.
Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla extract.
Add flour and baking soda and beat until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Scoop dough onto prepared sheet, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-13 minutes. Cookies will still be wet in the centre
Allow to cool for 2 minutes on baking sheet before transferring to a cool rack to finish cooling.
Serve at room temperature.
Store cookies in an air-tight container for up to 3 days.
