Equipment

  • Immersion blender or blender

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh peaches, peeled and diced
  • 1-2 jalapenos, seeded and diced*
  • 1 small white onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp lime juice.
  • 1 Tbsp paprika
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ¼ cup Canadian whiskey, optional

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a medium pot and stir to combine.
  • Heat over medium heat for 5-10 minutes or until peaches are soft, stirring and scraping bottom of pot to avoid sticking.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Using an immersion blender, pulse the sauce until all ingredients are broken down and sauce is smooth.
  • Cool to room temperature before storing in the fridge in a Mason jar or air-tight container for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

* Use one jalapeno for a milder sauce, 2 jalapenos for more heat.
* If sauce is too thin, add a tsp of cornstarch while pulsing with the blender to help thicken the sauce.
