Hawaiian Loose Meat Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground pork
  • ½ cup diced white onion
  • 8 hamburger buns

Sauce

  • 1 can crushed pineapple (398 ml)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp paprika
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat Blackstone/Griddle to medium heat.
  • In a small sauce pan mix all sauce ingredients together and place it on the griddle off to the side to heat, stirring often.
  • Cook meat and onions on one side of the griddle, breaking up the meat into crumbles as it cooks.
  • Once the meat is cooked through, slowly pour the sauce over the meat, mixing it all together.
  • Toast the buns on one side of the griddle while the sauce thickens on the meat.
  • Fill the buns with the meat and serve.
