Served with ice, this Homemade Pink Lemonade is a refreshing beverage that is easy to make and perfect to serve at backyard BBQs and cookouts all summer long. And it is made without any dyes or add-ins that change the flavour.

Most homemade lemonades are made with added cranberry juice to get the pink colour, but this pink lemonade is different.

Why Use Lime Juice?
We found the the addition of lime juice in lemonade enhances the citrus flavours.
If you prefer, you can replace the lime juice with additional lemon juice.
What is Grenadine and Does It Change the Flavour?
Grenadine is a syrup that is made from pomegranate. It is a deep red syrup that is used in many cocktails.
There is only a small amount of grenadine added to make the lemonade turn pink. It is not enough to change the flavour.
Our choice for all our recipes is Rose’s Grenadine.
Short Cut For Making Pink Lemonade
Making this lemonade does require making a simple syrup. That can be time consuming. But there is a way to make this lemonade quicker.
To quickly make homemade lemonade, 1-½ cups of store bought simple syrup can be used.
We make large batches of simple syrup and store it in mason jars in the fridge. It is easy to make using equal parts water and sugar, heating it to just boiling before allowing to cool. Then it can be stored in the fridge for months.
Serving Homemade Pink Lemonade
Homemade Pink Lemonade is perfect to serve with ice at cookouts, picnics, or any summer get-together. We like to serve pink lemonade along with our Homemade Lemonade to offer choices for our guests.
If you don’t want to water down the lemonade with ice, try making the lemonade the night before and freezing some of the lemonade in ice cubes to add to the lemonade instead of regular ice cubes.
Frozen lemon and lime slices are also great additions for lemonade when serving.
Storing Homemade Pink Lemonade
Lemonade should be stored in the fridge and used within 3 days. We love this glass jug for storing the lemonade.
For camping or road trips, we like to fill reusable bottles with lemonade. This way everyone gets their own serving and the bottles can be washed/rinsed and reused for water along the way or for the next trip to the beach or the park.
Pink lemonade can also be frozen in reusable bottle for packing in a cooler. We do this when camping or going to the beach. It thaws over time and helps keep other foods cold at the same time.
